Axillary Web Syndrome

Axillary Web Syndrome (AWS), otherwise known as cording, is a very common sequala of breast cancer surgery. This lecture describes the clinical presentation of AWS, outlines possible causes, and recommends current therapeutic options for this condition. 

Strength After Breast Cancer

This course prepares therapists to deliver the Strength After Breast Cancer program, which is an evidence-based rehabilitative exercise program for breast cancer survivors. The Strength ABC program is based on the Physical Activity and Lymphedema (PAL) Trial, which assessed the safety and efficacy of slowly progressive weightlifting for breast cancer survivors with or at risk for lymphedema. 

This course is designed for Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Accredited Exercise Physiologists who collaborate with an Accredited Lymphoedema Therapist capable of assessing clients and to whom clients can be directed in case of symptom changes.

Become a Lymphoedema Practitioner

The Level 1 Lymphoedema Courses allow the practitioner to develop their knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning in the management of uncomplicated lymphoedema. Please check the prerequisites. 

Lymphoedema Education Solutions offers you a unique opportunity to build your Level 1 lymphoedema education experience. There are three-course options: 

Upper Limb Level 1 Lymphoedema Course

Lower Limb Level 1 Lymphoedema Course

The Complete Level 1 Lymphoedema Course (Lower Limb + Upper Limb Level 1 Lymphoedema courses)

All courses include mentoring after completion. 

These courses are accredited by the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) by the ALA’s Competency Standards, and upon successful completion, the participant will be eligible to apply for accreditation under the ALA Accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner Program.
