Description: Understand the clinical rationale of SIPC in the treatment of a range of presentations at various stages of disease that affect the lower quadrant including lymphoedema, venous insufficiency, and arterial insufficiency conditions. The content will discuss safe prescription of Sequential Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (SIPC) and assessment of clinical effect to guide progression of settings.

Key learning objectives:

  • Learn about strategies using SIPC to treat and manage swelling affecting the lower quadrants- legs, abdomen, and genital regions.
  • Understand the clinical rationale of SIPC in the treatment of a range of presentations at various stages of disease that present with swelling affecting the lower quadrant including lymphoedema and venous insufficiency conditions.
  • Learn about assessment for determining clinical effect of SIPC and clinical reasoning for setting and progression of treatment parameters for these lower quadrant applications.

Description: This session will guide participants through the clinical reasoning for effective treatment of arm and chest wall lymphoedema and orthopaedic related swelling. The content will discuss safe prescription of Sequential Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (SIPC) and assessment of clinical effect to guide progression of settings.
