Distance Learning Course 1

This online course covers:

  • Basic laser physics.
  • Physiological changes that laser can produce.
  • Safety issues of using therapeutic laser.
  • Contraindications and precautions for therapeutic laser use
  • Potential adverse effects.
  • Carrying out dosage calculations.
  • Identifying factors that affect dosage choice.
  • The applications of several different laser units currently used clinically.

This course includes a 1.5 hour recorded presentation by Sharon Tilley

Distance Learning  Course 2 (available once Course 1 is successfully completed)

The distance learning component will prepare you for the webinar.

Live Webinar Course 2: 21 March 2018 7.00 pm Eastern Daylight Saving Time (1.5 hours presented by Sharon Tilley)

Prerequisites: This is an advanced level series of courses. Participants should have successfully completed a Level 1 or equivalent lymphoedema course that is recognised by the Australasian Lymphology Association.

Participants can be physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical practitioners, registered nurses ( Division 1), or massage therapists with Diploma of Remedial Massage (this is a minimum requirement) from a Registered Training Organisation listed with the National Training Information Service and may include qualifications that specify a primary modality such as ‘Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy).

Note: It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that the skills acquired in this class are within their scope of practice.

The registration fee includes:

  • Distance learning modules via the Lymphoedema Education Solutions on line Learning Management System.
  • Course material for the webinar
  • Access to the recorded webinar and distance learning modules for 1 month after the webinar date.

If you are a qualified Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Medical Practitioner or Division 1 Nurse, please provide your registration number.

If you are a qualified Massage Therapist, please provide clarification of your massage qualification, provider and year.

Lymphoedema Education Solutions Participant Agreement Terms and Conditions

The following agreement is made between the participant registering for the course (as indicated on this registration form) and Lymphoedema Education Solutions (LES).

Course Payment and Refund Policy 

On receipt of full payment the participant will receive a confirmation email and a receipt for payment.

The participant will receive the distance learning log in details within 48 hours of registration. If the participant cancels prior to the course access information being emailed, the participant will be refunded the tuition electronically within 10 business days, minus a non-refundable administrative charge of $50.00AUD. No refunds will be given after a username and password have been emailed to the participant .

Notification of cancellations must be sent by post or email info@lymphoedemaeducation.com.au.

Scope of Practice

The participant acknowledges and understands that the course is designed for practitioners with suitable existing health professional qualifications.  The course description identifies which types of health professional qualifications are required. The participant agrees that they are suitably qualified in accordance with the course prerequisites and holds a current registration.

Privacy Policy

LES respect the participant personal information and privacy is important to us. LES will use their best efforts to protect the participant personal information from unauthorised access.  LES may use the participant personal information to contact them from time to time about products and services LES think the participant may be interested in.  Part of the course involves communicating via email with other course participants and for this reason the participant agree that their email address may be shared with other course participants.  LES may give the participant details to course sponsors and exhibitors unless the participant ask LES not to. The participant should ask LES if they have any queries about providing their personal information.

Participant login email

The participant must take care when entering their email account when registering and purchasing so they receive all correspondence from LES including acknowledgement of registration, receipt of purchase and login details.
